y family ~ sweet newborn session

I met the most beautiful baby this weekend— and she had the BEST hair. (My husband asked me if they put gel in her hair while he was looking at a few of the photos.) It has been a few weeks since I saw this couple. We did maternity photos together about a month ago and things are looking a liiiiiittle different these days. Besides the fact that mom looks like she never even had a baby (even her eyes! I feel like my eyes were so watery and glassy for a solid month after I had my babies from the sheer exhaustion) and the house was spotless, there is now a new little person in this family! I loved how relaxed and content both of the parents seem. This is who they have wanted for a long time and now they have her <3

As with all of my newborn sessions, we broke the session into two parts. I started by capturing photos with the baby and her parents. The love was pouring out of them and into her. I asked the mom if she kisses her baby all day and she said yes, she just can’t stop staring! So many perfect features… the toes, the lips, the furrowed brow, oh my! Next, I captured photos of the baby by herself in a few different props. My husband Matt made the little newborn bed and I just love using it in sessions. I am so grateful to this family for choosing me to document this incredible time in their lives.
