m family ~ the countdown to baby is on

NJ Maternity Photos couple by barn

I actually went to high school with this soon-to-be-mama so I was super excited when she reached out to me about setting up a maternity and newborn session (shameless plug: I offer a special package when you book both of these sessions at the same time AND I am working on some amazing upgrade options to that package). I was excited to meet her husband and catch up on what she has been up to lately. Her husband was incredibly sweet and they are just the cutest together.

Since we booked the session a bit earlier in her pregnancy (she was about 30 weeks), she was still very active and WILLING to go on sort of a crazy long/hilly walk to get to our prime location. She also had to deal with me being annoying along the way— she was in the middle of telling me a story and I kept interrupting her when I saw some pretty light that I wanted her to stand in for a few shots. I just want to publicly apologize to my clients. I AM listening to you! I am just very good at multi-tasking and I am alwayssss tracking the light haha.

We got to THE SPOT, which then required my clients to trek through a meadow of tall grasses (we actually had to have the “check for ticks” talk…I’m the worst. Or the best? Your call!) Was it worth it? YES. YES. A thousand times yes. The light was dripping out from behind the barn and I could barely even handle it. These soon to be parents look like something out of a magical dream. I can’t wait to meet their little one in August… AND show you all what I have been working on 🙂

I know I said in one of my posts that I was going to make a whole metaphor connecting the journey into parenthood with our journey up this hill and through the meadow, but that was on a day when my brain was working. Maybe your homework assignment will be to think about that. I wouldn’t want to take that away from you, dear reader.
