g family ~ outdoor newborn session

I am really enjoying these outdoor newborn sessions! They can be a bit tricky with lighting and choosing a good location is important, but I just love photos of these beautiful new babies in nature. There is something so pure about it all.

My session with the “G” family was no exception. These two parents grew up in Michigan and met in high school, but they didn’t start dating until dad moved to NJ for grad school (I hear stories like this all the time!) Once they got together, their plan was not to stay in NJ but they just love it so much, they can’t leave! (Take that, all you other states who hate on NJ) They are avid bikers and even bought a bike already for their baby girl. Speaking of her, she was just the sweetest. She was already 3 weeks old, but still so sleepy, perfect for those prop shots. She was amazing during the session and loved to be all bundled up. (The background sounds of chirping birds and running water also probably helped.)

We ended the session paying homage to the dad’s alma mater, University of Michigan. These parents were so relaxed and natural with their new bundle of joy. They are nailing it! I am so excited for them to start biking as a family around town together.
