b family ~ sunflowers and birthdays

Confession. I live in New Jersey and I have never been to a sunflower field. When I saw that a local farm offered an after-hours sunflower event AND a client asked me to do a 3rd birthday session for her son there, I was 100% sold…and just a little excited 😉

The sunflowers did not disappoint and neither did the birthday boy! He had so much fun running around and playing on the tractors and trucks that were in the fields for everyone to enjoy. (Side note: everyone there was very respectful of social distance and pretty much everyone was wearing a mask anytime they were near any other people) Some of the sunflowers were so big! And the light peeping through the trees and spilling out onto the sunflower fields…magnifique.

The two tricks that never seemed to fail to get this cutie to smile were to call him a troublemaker or to tell him to give his little brother a big smile. How sweet is that? The mom told me that the only one who can, without fail, get the baby to smile even in his crankiest moments, is his big brother. His big brother who will be THREE in a few days!

The night ended with some ice cream, as all fun birthday celebration nights should. Happy (almost) birthday to this nature-loving dapper young man.
